Linda Gatter & Max Dannis / Owners
In 2004, owners Linda Gatter and Max Dannis purchased the former Schermerhorn's Garage at 111 Main Street in Philmont. They renovated the building so that it would contribute to the vitality of Philmont's downtown, and they decided on a restaurant as the best way to serve the local community and bring new business to the Village. Linda, an architect, came up with the design and Max did the work of building out the space. Their love for the agricultural landscape of Columbia County as well as their interest in promoting healthy and delicious food led them to create a restaurant with local food as its focus.
David Wurth / Executive Chef
David is a devoted student of the Alice Waters School; cook seasonally, buy locally, and keep the food simple so that the ingredients can shine. From 1990-2000 he worked as Sous Chef and then Chef de Cuisine at Savoy in Manhattan, where he honed the practical applications of that philosophy and forged many relationships with Hudson Valley Farmers. The move to Columbia County was a long desired goal to be closer to those farmers, and, of course, to enjoy the beautiful views!
Brian Williams / Sous Chef
Brian, a resident of Philmont, originally hails from the Midwest. He is a 2004 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Before joining the team at

he served as Sous Chef at Aubergine in Hillsdale. Brian's fondness for French food and Southern home cooking comes from the cooking of his mother and grandmother. He hopes to carry on these traditions using the great ingredients provided by the farms of the Hudson Valley.
Tim Deak / Restaurant Manager
Tim was born and raised in the farmlands of Ohio. After leaving the Midwest for New York City, Tim worked for many years in some of New York's best restaurants, including
